Birdstep Technology announced the availability of the Birdstep’s Mobile IP client on the newly launched Nokia 9300i Smartphones. A “try and buy” version of the Birdstep Mobile IP client is shipped bundled with these Nokia devices from this date.

As an End-User and Enterprise offering, Birdstep introduced this fall “SmartRoaming“, a hosted roaming service to provide mobility across networks independent of the operator or subscription – accessible via the Birdstep Mobile IP client. The SmartRoaming service is now activated to allow users of the newly launched 9300i Smartphones enjoy seamless mobility across network boundaries.

The Birdstep Mobile IP Client supports secure and continuous connectivity between Wireless LAN and GSM/GPRS/UMTS/CDMA networks. This client allows users to seamlessly connect and re-connect across different types of infrastructures without application downtime, security degradation or user intervention – it provides complete hassle-free mobility.
