O2 and 3 have joined up to form “EyeVibe”, which is a mobile video community that combines the successful “SeeMeTV” and “LookAtMe!” services. Both services were created by Yospace, who are hoping to create a single community with the best of both worlds. Members will obviously be able to submit videos, but also message, vote, and comment between each other.

Since the launch of the original services, users have paid for 32 million downloads, earning more than £800k for the 60,000 users who have submitted clips. The services also generate over 28 million mobile page impressions per month.

Does anyone else think these numbers are impressive? I know from personal experience how popular the SeeMeTV service was – because I was involved working on it for time, getting the mobile video and audio formats right! Yospace are a great company, and this does seem like a masterstroke, getting two Operators who are well known by themselves, to partner to form a giant service.

As a continuing part of the inaugural Ben rating system, 3, O2, and Yospace get:

… the full 5 stars for innovation, and proving that UGC can monetize when done well!
