MWg UBiQUiO 503GIf the MWg handset you see here rings a proverbial bell, that’s probably because you’ve seen it before. This particular MWg-branded handset is basically a TechFaith Wireless-sourced UBiQUiOS 503G with an MWg logo slapped on the front.

Coming off parent company O2 Asia’s demise, MWg is prepping to offer a new pair of QWERTY-toting Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional handsets. This time around, MWg has taken to simply re-branding handsets rather than coming up with their own, unique jobbies. The lower-end offering from MWg will be based on the UBiQUiO 501 – and will be should be known as the MWg UBiQUiO 501 (quite creative). It’s been a while since we last heard of the UBiQUiO 501, but you may recall that the WM6-powered handset sports a tri-band (900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio, 200Mhz OMAP750 CPU, 2 megapixel camera, and WiFi radio. Unfortunately, there’s no 3G in store for this handset.

And, to balance things out a bit, MWg will be offering a re-branded take on the UBiQUiO 503G – the MWg UBiQUiO 503G. With quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900Mhz), tri-band (850/1900/2100Mhz) HSDPA, Intel Xscale 530Mhz CPU, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and WiFi, the MWg version of the UBiQUiO 503G should be just as impressive as the original. It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard of the 503G, but if there’s one thing that never gets old, it’s 3.6Mbps HSDPA.
