Microsoft to acquire Portuguese mobile software company MobiComp

I’ve almost missed this one. I’m not sure just how important this is, but since it’s Microsoft we’re talking about here, it can have quite an impact…

Microsoft has agreed to buy Portugal-based mobile software company MobiComp. Under the terms of acquisition, which is BTW Microsoft’s largest in the country, MobiComp will be turned into a R&D centre of Microsoft’s mobile communications division.

MobiComp produces software that can store such content as contacts and calendars, and has a “tool to enhance mobile social networking to Internet sites like Facebook.” Nokia is among MobiComp’s clients.

No financial details were disclosed.
