Lonely Planet content hits Nokia Maps

Nokia has teamed up with Lonely Planet to distribute their content via Nokia Maps to allow users to purchase and download the popular city guides.

With over 100 destinations available now, and more to come, Nokia Maps and Lonely Planet have many of the most world’s most popular tourist locations covered. The Lonely Planet guides will help travellers to find great places to eat, shop and sleep, as well as describing the popular sights and nightlife for each destination.

Both parties are satisfied with the deal. Lonely Planet’s CEO Stephen Palmer sees the partnership with Nokia as a “genuinely transformational deal”. “It will help all those questions which travellers frequently have on the road such as ‘What should I explore today’ or ‘where should I go for dinner tonight?’ Together with Nokia we will help more travellers connect profoundly with their world, every day,” he added.

The Lonely Planet downloads are already available from the Guides section in the Extras menu of Nokia Maps 2.0 for 7.99 EUR. For more information check out Nokia Maps’ official website.
