UK: another “DRM-free” mp3 music site pops up

Play.com, a popular online retailer in the UK, is now offering DRM-free mp3 downloads, at some low prices! The service, which launched in February this year, had a deal with EMI, which is now expanded to cover Sony BMG, Warner Music and Universal – pretty much all the big boys then – and will offer over 3m songs in the mp3 format.

Most interesting, possibly, is the pricing – from 65p for a single, and from £4.99 for an album!

This follows the news recently that Nectar has launched a music download site, that uses it’s Nectar points as the “currency” – the question I suppose, is who will be next to the table?!
