CellPhoneSote releases File Associate UIQ3

Sony Ericsson may consider UIQ dead, but that doesn’t mean existing smartphone owners should be abandoned. That being said CellPhoneSoft, which is known for its UIQ apps, has released a new handy utility called File Associate that lists and lets users change what applications are used to open various document files. For instance, you can select alternative viewers for all popular file types like DOC, PDF, JPG, MP3, etc.. with the newly assigned associations taking effect when you open files from a file manager.

Also included in the package is the so called Generic viewer, which supports viewing of flash, ZIP, text and binary files. When clicking on a file, you will never again encounter the “Unrecognized file format” message!

File Associate is significant in that sense that it brings a kind of customization that was never before possible on Symbian UIQ or S60 phones, and in that light we love it. Here’s a link from where you can grab the app. A free trial is also available.
