iPhone screen protectors… the good, the bad, and the ugly!

Do you got a screen protector?

Do you got a screen protector?

So in my quest to get my iPhone3G prepped and ready for ongoing usage, I have been trying to find a decent screen protector. That screen protector has to have a bunch of key characteristics:

  • Protect from scratches
  • Not affect touch functionality
  • Not look shocking!
  • Not bubble or peel
  • Not collect excessive amounts of dust

I have had 2 screen protectors so far (Belkin Screen Protector for iPhone, and one from an unnamed company that makes a “mirror” protector..) and both have been been quite poor. The Belkin covered just the screen area of the iPhone front surface, rather than the entire glassed area. Problems: collected dust badly, and bubbled up at the edges after only week. The latter protector was just FUGLY – and despite the suggestion in the picture on the packet it came in, didn’t cover the entire glassed area – it missed a section at the top and the bottom, curiously, for no good reason!

Touch sensitivity was good in both, and prices were … er … average – £7.99 and £5.99 respectively.

Anyhooble, I’ve binned them both and am have now ordered this protector from MobileFun– let’s hope it does the job, finally and fully:
