Callpod’s Drone is the world’s most powerful Bluetooth dongle

Callpod, the company which we know for its great Bluetooth accessories, is out with yet another product. It’s called the Drone, and with an operating range of 100 meters – it’s the world’s most powerful Bluetooth dongle, created from die-cast zinc and high impact polycarbonate for strength and durability.

In the official release, Callpod suggests Drone is great for making VoIP (Skype) calls, listening to music on Bluetooth stereo speakers, printing to Bluetooth printers and so on. We, on the other hand, see the clear benefit of faster transfer of data between a phone and computer. With 100MBps, one could actually transfer some serious content like songs and video clips from a PC to a mobile device.

Finally, let’s talk about pricing. The Drone is available for $49.95, which is kinda expensive for a Bluetooth dongle. And while I’ve no doubts the Drone rocks, I just don’t see that many people pouring out 50 bucks for something that usually costs $10. Then again, who knows…
