Konami going iPhone, too; Frogger is out, Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill and DanceDanceRevolution to follow soon

Konami announced that it will bring its popular titles to the Apple AppStore, allowing iPhone and iPod Touch users to enjoy such games as Metal Gear Solid Touch, Silent Hill: The Escape, DanceDanceRevolution and Frogger. Of course, all of the games mentioned will be specifically designed to “take full advantage of the iPhone’s unique touch screen capabilities.”

Release dates were not given, but we can see that Frogger is already available on iTunes for $5.99. When will other titles follow is a mistery at this point, but given how hot the iPhone gaming market is, I’m sure Konami won’t wait much before releasing other games.

Commenting on the announcement, Konami’s Anthony Borquez said: “Konami Mobile offers gamers nothing but the best by developing high quality, big-name titles with unparalleled mobile entertainment experiences. We are extremely excited to be working with Apple to introduce North American consumers with popular franchises that are compatible with the iPhone and iPod’s advanced technologies.”
