Motorola closes its flagship store on Red Square in Moscow

MotorolaTimes are tough, especially for Motorola. The American handset maker has recently closed its flagship store in Moscow on the famous Red Square. The store managed to work for about two years and it’s kinda sad to see it being closed.

Apparently, the closure is related to the growth of rental rates in Moscow, as well as reduced lineup of the company.

There is/were three Motorola-branded stores in Russia. One at Gorbushke still operates, although it’s on the verge of closure. Then there’s already closed corporate salon in Chelyabinsk, and now we have the major one on Red Square closing its doors on January 19th.

Hopefully, this is part of Motorola’s overall restructuring which will see the company investing more in R&D activities. As a result, we’re hoping to see some cool Moto phones at display in Barcelona within two weeks. I’ll keep my fingers crossed…
