mobintech-tv-glassesYep, a new video glasses manufacturer is on the scene – this time a dutch company called Mobintech – here’s what they have to say:

Denmark-based company, Mobintech A/S, has announced the launch of the innovative digital PDG at the MWC-congress in Barcelona. The PDG replaces the small screen on a mobile phone and is expected to revolutionize the market for Mobile TV. Mobintech’s PDG’s are the first digital PDG on the marked, which offers new, great benefits for consumers like: double battery-time compared to viewing mobile TV on the phone screen, no extra cables or batteries, no flickering as known from analogue display glasses and more mobility due to lighter and smaller design.

Together with a mobile phone equipped with a digital TV-out interface, the digital PDG creates new possibilities for mobile operators and mobile content suppliers in making more revenue from content services like mobile TV. With the PDG live Mobile TV, news, sport, shows and videos will be accessible for users in a much more entertaining and user-friendly manner whereever they are in the office, in the home or on the go. The device is also perfect for the large group of people commuting on trains, busses or planes as this is the ideal situation for relaxing and watching movies or downloaded material.

The digital PDG technologies developed by Mobintech secures a sharp and crisp image quality which, combined with the stereo earplugs, creates an experience equivalent to watching TV at home on a 30″ TV. Mobility is truly supported by ensuring that no external battery packages or chargers are needed. The Mobintech PDG use the battery power of the mobile phone, but with much lower power consumption than the screen of the mobile phone, allowing consumers to watch up to double the hours of mobile TV due to the low-power patent pending technology. The new PDG comes in a stylish Danish design in a variety of cool colors. The design is created by leading Danish designers and is elegant and ultra-light weight as well as created in a slim, narrow design that even allows users to keep an eye on the external surroundings.

For those of you attending MWC, The Mobintech booth and the display of digital PDGs can be found at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona February 16 – 19, 2009: Booth B69 – Hall 2.1. For those of you that aren’t, check out their site here.
