SanDisk is well on the way to bringing out 32 GB microSD for mobile phones after announcing 32 nanometer NAND flash memory. Sure, it’s good news for solid-state drives too, but the 32 GB chip is the last we’ll see of the High-Capacity mobile category before moving up to the recently-announced XC designation, which will take us all the way up to 2 terabytes of storage. In the meanwhile, these 32 GB X3 chips will be seeing production in the second half of this year, likely with proper microSD cards following shortly thereafter. Right now, the biggest microSD memory cards you can pick up are 16 GB, which average for about a hundred bucks.
