Evernote mobile website optimized for the Android web browser

Good news for Evernote fans which have or plan to obtain an Android-powered handset. The popular note taking service/application (and my personal favorite, I might add) has optimized its mobile website to render better on Android’s Webkit-based browser. T-Mobile G1 aka HTC Dream users will be automatically redirected to the optimized version once they visit Evernote’s mobile website at www.evernote.com/m.

Among the features included in the optimized-for-Android website are easier search and navigation with quicker access to commonly used features, touchscreen optimization, support for both portrait and landscape modes.

Those who look for the “native ways” to do things, we’ll be glad that in the same post, Evernote folks wowed to develop the full-blown application for Android and other mobile platforms, although timeline was not revealed. That said, I hope they are working on the Symbian S60 version, which could help them grow even, faster considering the fact that it is the single most widely used smartphone platform in the world. In the meantime, I’m using Evernote on my iPhone. 😉
