Is it just me or are O2 way out there in the lead with their marketing intiatives right now?
Let me think about all the stuff that’s happening or rumoured:
- Ongoing sponsorship of England and Ireland Rugby (well it’s the best sport anyway) 😉
- Name plastered on the old Millenium dome, now = “The O2” (that advertising is priceless)
- Michael Jackson at The O2 – see previous point
- Ton of smaller O2-branded music venues opened
- O2 Wireless festival
- Numerous Green intiatives inc. Simplicity tariff
- The iPhone. Enuff said.
- Rumoured to be getting BOTH the new Palm Pre on exclusive, and also new iPhone “X” update by end of year
If I was the other Operators’ marketing depts, I’d seriously be considering calling it a day and going home….! Only joking, but that is a serious wealth of intiatives that the other OpCos are competing against – no wonder they are in a clear No. 1 position right now….
Who’s going to bring the challenge? Name me an Operator, anyone….
