netlingo-logoNetLingo comes with another tech-term classic: the alpha geek!

alpha geek

The most knowledgeable, technically proficient person in an office or work group. “Ask Larry, he’s the alpha geek around here.”

Ha ha ha! Yep every office that is involved in IT and Telecoms (and many that aren’t) have one of these people. Typically (but not always) a man, he/she is the guy/girl that seems to have uber-knowledge in anything remotely technical!

My personal experience is that these people are often a touch on the arrogant side, and might like to see you beg for assistance – however, you do get the occasional nice one that can manage a smile with their tech solution 🙂

Alpha Geeks, I salute you, for you hold the digital keys to our problems – just try and remember that grin 😉
