Vodafone UK starts PAYG war with Freedom Packs!

vodafone_logo1Electricpig.co.uk is on point with this story, confirming a rumour previously reported that Vodafone is going big on PAYG – by offering some value packs – they are called Vodafone Freedom Packs, and will start being offered on Good Friday, 10th April.

Vodafone Freedom Packs basically give you loads of free texts and minutes for a pretty piffling sum of pre-pay money. For instance, the cheapest £10 Freedom Pack gives you £50 worth of minutes and texts.

Pay £15 and you get 600 texts and 200 minutes, or opt for £20 and you’re rewarded with unlimited texts and 300 minutes. Vodafone Freedom Packs are totally PAYG too – there’s no regular subscription to pay. The minutes can be used to call any network or 01/02/03 landline number too.

As Electricpig.co.uk points out, the only catch-eroo here is that the free minutes and texts have to be used up before 30 days or you’ll switch back to standard rates until you buy another pack. Apparently Vodafone customers can call 2345 to get the packs, on or after Good Friday, 10th April.
