Okwap has released their C150 non-sliding slider phone for Asian consumption. Upon cursory inspection, you would think that the buttonless face slides up to reveal a keypad, but you’d be wrong on both accounts. The face neither slides, nor is there any keypad. Instead, the Okwap C150 illuminates a touch-sensitive directional pad (lighting up in amber/red) from under the flat face. The Okwap C150 does not use keypads, opting to navigate with only a circular d-pad – a la the Sony Ericsson W850.
While the Okwap C150 does support dual SIM cards, it doesn’t do much else. The C150 has no Bluetooth, no IR, and no expandable memory – but it does have 177MB of on-board memory (anyone else think that’s a strange and arbitrary number?) and a 2 megapixel shooter. The handset tips the scales at 91g and is 15.8mm thick, with a 2.2 inch, 176×220 pixel, touchscreen.
All in all, this thing is an interesting design idea, with horrible execution. At least it supports dual SIM cards…
