iLightr, the popular app for the iPhone is now available for Android via the Android Market. The developers over at Übermind have commented that this is not just a simple port over to Android… They took some extra care in creating the Android version. Lead Developer Jean-Guy Speton commented:

We didn’t just take the iPhone version and port it over to Android…This is a complete reimplementation, making for an interactive flame that is more photo realistic than anything else out there.

High-res OpenGL graphics, dynamic sound effects and accelerometer support all combine to bring you the next best thing to holding and actual lighter. The app is available in the Android Market right now for $0.99… Or, you could also head down to your local convenience store and pick up a lighter for $0.99. Your call 🙂
