My PhoneMicrosoft has made its My Phone web portal available to the general public (previously it was available as a limited invitation-only service). Still in beta, the service allows users to access, manage and backup personal information from their Windows Mobile smartphone are PDA.

The whole process can be set to be done automatically, removing all the hassle once all the parameters are on place. The service is secure, meaning that only you and eventually other people that have your password can access your data.

For the record, when we say personal information, we mean contacts, appointments, text messages as well as some other information stored on the phone. Moreover, you could also keep (upload) your photo and video files on Microsoft’s servers and access them from wherever you happen to be.

Finally, it’s important to add that Microsoft is working on the My Phone mobile client which should be released during the next couple of weeks…
