Last we heard, the BlackBerry Tour 9630 would be finding its way to Verizon stores in July, but the latest tips are suggesting that date has been moved back to mid-August, and maybe even later. Considering promotional and instructional materials coming into Bell stores and the appearance of a proper Telus device are signaling a launch sooner than later north of the border, this rumour is probably worth taking with a big fat grain of salt. Previously code-named “Niagara”, the 9630 is a pretty big deal for CDMA carriers, whose customers have had to look to the 8330 or, worse yet, 8830, if they wanted a serious, down-to-business BlackBerry. The Pearl Flip and Storm are nice and all, but a real QWERTY keyboard is something of a necessity for those who live and die by e-mail.
