Nokia Nseries has joined hands with Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai’s Whistling Woods International (WWI), a film institute and Mediamatics Entertainment Private Limited to announce Nokia Nseries Film Awards.

It will provide a platform to wannabe filmmakers to showcase their talent through Nokia’s latest model N93i, which will allow the users to shoot a film, edit it and share it with the rest of the world.

“The phone will do a lot of good to the new generation. I could never imagine that a camera can be so small. In India, cinema is the first love of millions of people and everybody desires to become a filmmaker,” Ghai, who unveiled the Nokia N93i, told media here Wednesday.

“There are so many talented people out there but the problem is that they are snubbed. It happened with me also. But Nokia Nseries gives these talented people and opportunity to express their ideas. This is a very significant step by Nseries to promote talented people.”

Ghai was in his elements and donned the director’s cap and clicked few shots with Nokia N93i and also gave a few tips about how to shoot a particular scene.

“It always disturbed me that our kids are not given and opportunity to express themselves, especially in Mumbai. Fast growing entertainment needs lot of talent. New technology is enabling younger generation to show their talent. WWI trains limited people but Nseries is allowing all and sundry to showcase their talents. It will help in bringing international competence to India,” he added.

Last date to submit the film, which shouldn’t be longer than three minutes, is March 12 and the awards will be announced April 10. The winner will get an opportunity to do a six-month foundation course in filmmaking at WWI and the two runners-up will win a trip to the Universal Studios in Hollywood and a Nokia N93i handset.

Awesome! I love Bollywood soundtracks, to me that is what makes or breaks the movie.

Good luck to any of my Indian readers, there are a lot of you according to Google Analytics.
