Nokia needs to take off a few articles of clothing

Scoble pointed to the April cover of Wired. I couldn’t agree with it more:

Nokia can’t be an Internet company if it doesn’t have an official blog. The S60 blogs are a fantastic start, but they are a very small portion of what Nokia is all about.

My fellow bloggers and I know that the money is in the low end, emerging markets, but do regular people understand this?

Who designed the 8800? N95? 6300?

Why does Nokia think Qualcomm is wrong when it comes to their patents?

What does Nokia think about Linux eating away at S60 market share?

Who at Nokia decided to use that Moby song?!

It isn’t a secret that Nokia uses blogs and wikis internally, why not make yourselves a little bit more public?

Tell me with a straight face why a huge, international company, can’t honor the warranty of phones people import?

I imported a Samsung HDTV from Korea via a distributor in New York who I found on a forum based out of California who then shipped it to me in Texas. When my television broke almost a year later, Samsung had no problem sending in an American technician to repair my TV less than 72 hours after I placed a phone call.

Brands are global. The definition of local has changed from who is within walking distance, to who you communicate with on a daily basis regardless of continent.

I hope my Nokia E61 from Finland doesn’t have an accident in the next several months. Good thing I have a Vaja case from Argentina to protect it.
