
The U.S. government is giving away money these days in an effort to return economy on the right track. In that sense, U.S. Cellular has applied for federal stimulus funding to bring its service in rural areas of Missouri, California, Kansas and Nebraska.
More specifically, the carrier is asking:
- $11.2 million in grant support from the Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP) for Missouri,
- $2.95 million for California,
- $3.7 million for Kansas, and
- $5.58 million for Nebraska.
