Motorola MC9500 Offers Swappable Keypads, Battery Indicators to Enterprise

The latest from Motorola’s rugged enterprise line is the MC9500 – a Windows Mobile smartphone designed for tough industrial situations. One-handed use is a big deal with the MC9500, something the MC55 wouldn’t be able to handle for beans, accentuated further by great accelerometer use. The video demo shows a section where you tip the device towards a delivery customer, and the screen flips around properly for signing.  Charging is also a pretty big deal for this device, as it plugs into a modular, “form factor agnostic” charging system and has LED indicators on the mosterous 4800 mAh batteries themselves to properly show battery life. Five swappable keypads and customer-changeable EV-DO and HSPA modules allow employers to tailor devices to the demands of their company.

All the usual smartphone amenities are on there: 3 megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.7″ 640 x 480 display, along with the added bonus of military-grade ruggedness that transportation and warehouse workplaces demand.  For more information and ordering options, hit up Motorola.
