Great headline, but probably never going to happen: EU considering issuing a recall on the iPhone

Meglena Kuneva, EU Commissioner for Consumer Affairs, is a bit pissed off that she has had to receive complaints from Britain, France and Germany about iPhones hurting people thanks to batteries that over heat, hiss and even explode. The EU will conduct their own tests of the iPhone hardware, and if they find a problem, they’re going to pull the cord and yank each and every iPhone 3G off the market. Apple already has a terrible reputation in the EU thanks to iTunes. Will the EU ever pull the iPhone off store shelves? Nick Farrell from The Inquirer is probably wrong about this one, but he sure knows how to write an eye catching headline.
