Rogers BlackBerry 8520 Coming Soon in Lavendar

BlackBerry-8520-Lavendar2I just got Rogers’ monthly UR magazine in the mail with something unfamiliar on the cover: a BlackBerry Curve 8520 in lavender. The new paint job was spotted briefly in late September, but it looks like we’re getting closer to an official release.  Rogers just came out with the new, slim, trackpad-bearing Curve a few weeks ago, and have even chopped the price to $49.99, although it’s currently only available in classic black. The lavendar version will be available “soon“, and should appeal to the ladies out there looking for something a little more colourful. For a budget BlackBerry, I was pretty happy with the 8520, and if you need mobile e-mail and not necessarily all of the bells and whistles while still staying stylish, it’s definitely the way to go.

Oh, another cool thing I spotted was an upcoming iPhone application called Rogers My Account, that will let you keep tabs on data and voice usage and even pay your balance from your handset.
