PocketMac No Longer Supported by RIM

No surprise whatsoever here. Now that RIM has launched the BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac, they’ve officially dropped support for PocketMac. Before the days of BDM for Mac, PocketMac was the only resource Mac users had to manage their BlackBerry from their computer. I’ve had it for many, many years, and I’m sad to say that the days of PocketMac (at least for BlackBerry/Mac) may be numbered.

The official statement from RIM on the matter:

Please be advised that as of October 2, 2009 PocketMac is no longer supported by Research In Motion. Please contact PocketMac at www.pocketmac.com if you require support for PocketMac for BlackBerry smartphones. Please note that related references and troubleshooting steps have been removed from www.blackberry.com.

Should be interesting to see if PocketMac continues to support next-gen BlackBerry devices, or if they’ll give up altogether. I’m sure there are a few die-hard PocketMac fans out there, but with the official BDM for Mac now available, it sure makes things tough for them.
