Features don't sell phones!?

Advanced features aren’t selling mobile phones in the U.S. even though more users are adopting them, according to a recent survey by research company J.D. Power and Associates. They’ve surveyed 18,740 users in two waves, one last October and one in February with users being allowed to give multiple reasons for the purchase.

It’s price and design that are the biggest reasons consumers give for buying particular handsets — the phone’s overall variety of features was cited by 16 percent of the consumers as a reason for buying their phone.

People would more likely buy the fancy RAZR than something that could really be useful!? I’m talking about the tons of applications available for Symbian and even Windows Mobile platform. Maybe they want smaller smartphones. Hey, I want that too! 🙂

PCWorld has a more in-depth article on the subject.
