CNET Scan & Shop app hits the Android Market

At the end of the holiday season, CNET along with CBS Mobile released a handy app in the Android Market. It’s called CNET Scan & Shop and it allows users to make more intelligent decisions as part of their consumer electronics shopping. Using the application, you can access CNET editor reviews, user reviews, product specs, and pricing info — all while on the go. The last mentioned part is especially interesting, as it brings comparison shopping to the palm of your hand, aggregating prices among both local and online retailers. Searching for products can be done by name or by scanning product barcodes directly from the Android device’s built-in camera.

In addition, you can create wish lists, sign up for email notifications when the price of a product drops to a certain level, and share everything you find a friend and/or colleague.

If you’re interested in CNET Scan & Shop, simply search for it in the Android Market. It’s a free and quite useful app, thus we strongly recommend it. 😉
