Evernote is out with a new version of its iPhone app just in time for the holidays. Many things are changed and we love it. Here’s what’s new:
- Local note caching – this includes both notes that you create AND view on your iPhone.
- Offline notebooks – if you’re a Premium user you can take ALL your notes with you. Simply adjust settings in the “Sync” tab and go through your notes while on a plane or other place where network connection is unavailable. Of course, if you’re going to sync all your notes and you have quite a few of them, make sure to do that while in a hotspot.
- In-app purchase of Evernote Premium – that’s in case you want a mobile offline access to your notes along with other goodies the Premium plan offers.
- Length of audio note recordings is doubled to 20 minutes!
- Offline/local search – very handy especially if you’re going to have all (or most) of your notes stored on your iPhone/iPod Touch. Of course, if you’re using some data connection, the search extends to your online notes, as well.
- Editing rich-text notes – finally, you can edit formatted notes that also may include pictures or attachments.
- Brand new “Sync” tab which comes with real-time status of all sync operations.
- New “All Notes” button to get back to all your notes with a single tap.
- Evernote is now faster. They say every aspect of the app is improved — including searching, syncing, making new notes, browsing, etc.
- Additional languages – Evernote for iPhone is now available in English, French, German and Russian with limited (but quickly growing) support for Japanese, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Swedish, Portuguese and Chinese.
I know you want it. AppStore link is here, go grab Evernote for iPhone if you still haven’t. And as always, make sure to reboot your phone after installing a new version of Evernote.
