TetherBerry Rebrands as Tether… More iPhone, Android and Win-Mo Tethering to Come

The powers that be at TetherBerry have rebranded… In a kinda-sorta big way. They’re now known as ‘Tether’, and a new version of the popular tethering app for BlackBerry is available now in App World.

TetherBerry, uh, sorry, I mean ‘Tether’ lets you tether your BlackBerry to your computer for use as an internet connection. It’s jam-packed full of awesome. But what triggered the re-branding here is the desire to expand to multiple platforms. Sure, TetherBerry was a great name for a BlackBerry tethering app, but when you have plans to expand into the iPhone, Android and Win-Mo worlds, the name doesn’t do you very much good. Testing has already begun on a new Android version of Tether, and I’m expecting we’ll hear more about this (and other versions) in the near future.

Congrats to the folks at Tether, for what is surely a smart move. And hey, if in the end it doesn’t work out, at least they’ve got an awesome domain name 🙂

For more information hit up Tether.com, or pick it up via App World for only $19.99.
