Good news for Telus subscribers living in Southern Ontario, Montreal and Winnipeg, as now they can expect faster download and upload speeds on the compatible handsets. In case you haven’t figured out, the carrier has upgraded parts of its EVDO network to Rev. A standard, with rest of the EVDO coverage areas to follow later this year.
According to Telus, users in affected areas can expect upload speeds of 300 to 400 Kbps with maximum possible upload speeds of 1.8 Kbps; on downlink side, the carrier promises speeds of approximately 450 to 800 Kbps to a maximum possible speed of 3.1 Mbps.
There you have it. Soon you’ll have no reason to “blame Canada” when you roam northern of United States. 🙂
