Burger King in the Philippines provides free mobile phone charging!

Would you like a free handset charge with that order? Of course you would! Too bad you’d have to hoof it all the way to the Philippines for a taste of that free-phone-charging goodness. With mobile phones penetrating every aspect of our daily lives, it makes sense for the fast-food restaurant to provide patrons with a free juice-up with their combo-meal.

We love the slogan – Lo Bat, No Bat, Any Kind Of Bat. How great is that? It kind of reminds us of the ubiquitous used-car dealership motto – No Credit, Bad Credit, No Problem.

It’s interesting to see that 3 out of the 6 mobile phone charging options are Nokia phones – apparently they have different power cords to accomodate different handsets’ power plugs. The fact that Nokia is so prevalent on Burger King’s charging station is testament to Nokia’s market-share outside the US. Still, wouldn’t it be nice if one day all mobile phones used a universal charging port (miniUSB perhaps)?

Forget the ketchup, pass the power cord!
