Samsung is expanding its One UI 8.5 rollout to include two more device categories, bringing the latest software experience to budget and rugged smartphone users. The Galaxy M15 and Galaxy Xcover7 have begun receiving the update in select markets, continuing Samsung’s methodical approach to software distribution across its diverse device portfolio.

The rollout represents Samsung’s commitment to supporting devices beyond its flagship Galaxy S series, extending premium software features to more accessible price points and specialized use cases. This update strategy helps Samsung maintain competitive advantage in the mid-range and enterprise markets where software longevity is increasingly important to buyers.

The Galaxy M15 is currently receiving One UI 8.5 in Korea through firmware version M156SKSU8DZE4, which includes the May 2026 security patch. The update brings Samsung’s latest interface improvements and security enhancements to the budget-focused M series lineup.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Xcover7 is seeing broader initial availability across Southeast Asia. Users in Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam can now download firmware version G556BXXUFEZEB. The rugged Xcover series serves enterprise customers and users who need durable devices, making timely software updates particularly valuable for business deployments.

Samsung announced that both rollouts will expand to additional markets in the coming weeks. This phased approach allows Samsung to monitor update stability before broader distribution.

The timing of these updates reflects Samsung’s improved software update cadence. The company has been working to reduce the gap between flagship and mid-range device updates, responding to user expectations and competitive pressure from brands like Google and OnePlus that offer day-one updates across device tiers.

For the Galaxy M15, this update is particularly significant as it maintains the device’s value proposition in Samsung’s budget lineup. The M series competes directly with offerings from Xiaomi, Realme, and other value-focused brands where software support can be a key differentiator.

The Galaxy Xcover7 update is equally important for Samsung’s enterprise business. Companies deploying rugged devices often require consistent security updates and feature parity with consumer devices. Timely One UI updates help Samsung maintain its position in the enterprise mobility market.

Users can check for the update by navigating to Settings, then Software update, and selecting Download and install. As with all Samsung updates, the rollout may take several days to reach all eligible devices even within the same region.

This latest expansion follows Samsung’s recent One UI 8.5 rollouts to other mid-range devices including the Galaxy A series and additional M series models, indicating the company is accelerating its update timeline across all product categories.
