AdWhirl brings its advertising mediation solution to the Android platform

AdWhirl, which as you may know is owned by acquired-by-Google AdMob is “going Android.” They are launching the completely open-source AdWhirl Android SDK to bring “mediation advertising” to the platform, with the idea to allow Android developers to include ads from multiple ad networks in their apps — just like that’s already the case with the AdWhirl iPhone developers.

Feature wise, the Android SDK offers pretty much all of the features found in its iPhone counterpart, except for a few platform specific limitations. Developers rely on the same web-based UI to manage campaigns and check on reports.

There are two ad networks available right from the bat — Quattro and AdMob — and there’s also an option to include other networks to the mix… To grab the SDK, hop over to AdWhirl’s website and take it from there.

And in case you wonder whether it’s worth installing AdWhirl’s code in your Android app, you should know that AdWhirl for iPhone has seen number of apps installed increasing by 40% and there has been a 78% increase in daily impressions. At present, there are more than 1,300 iPhone apps actively using AdWhirl daily, and we’re sure the trend will repeat with the Android.
