Video: Nokia Download! walkthrough, including ROK TV demo

Steve Litchfield takes a look at the recently updated Download! client on the Nokia e61i. The application was created to help users unfamiliar with S60 to find new applications for their mobile. A serious source of potential, the Download! client is inferior because Nokia categorizes people by the type of device they use. Purchased a Nokia N95? You will have applications tailored towards media. Purchased the absolutely gorgeous E61i? You must love watching Bloomberg TV all day long.

All that aside, it is a step in the right direction and I’ve yet to see other phone manufactures do this. I’ve seen operators try to sell you software, but never the people who actually make the hardware. Is this the start of something greater at Nokia? We will find out in January after the reorganization.
