Bump iPhone app updated with Facebook friending, multiple profiles support

Bump, the iPhone application that lets users share contact information with friends and acquaintances simply by bumping two phones, has been updated.

The main thing in this release is Facebook integration. In addition to swapping basic contact information, now you can add a Facebook friend with Bump. All you need to do is link your Facebook account with Bump (and so does other people) and next time you bump your phone with another person, you’ll be instantly able to add him or her to your friends list.

Bump Technologies’ CEO said they’ve been working closely with Facebook to make this happen and apparently Bump is the first iPhone app that can deal with friend requests. Moreover, he said that integration with other social networks is coming in future updates.

The other thing that’s included with the updated Bump is support for multiple profiles, allowing you to define a different profile for every need. When you’re at work, you may want to use your business profile, while on other occasions you may pick the personal one. Likewise, you can set a “fake” profile for those circumstances when you can’t shake off an annoying guy/gal at the bar.

Bump remains the free application and with more people using it, I would advise you to start doing the same (if you still don’t).
