RSS reader NetNewsWire ported to iPad!

I’m a big fan of web-based RSS readers but having tried NetNewsWire on the iPhone, I can understand why some people opt for a dedicated client on mobile devices. That said, I’m glad to report that NewsGator launched the iPad version of the application, which as you can presume, works even better than its iPhone counterpart, taking advantage of the bigger screen.

NetNewsWire for iPad rocks a new split-screen view that shows subscriptions on one side, with articles and web pages on the other — just like RSS readers do on your computer.

But it’s not just the new UI — apparently, the code has been rewritten from the ground up to better sing along iPad’s more powerful CPU (when compared to the one found in the iPhone 3GS).

The only problem may be the price. Apple made us cheap and at this point not many are used to paying 10 bucks for an RSS reader. Still, if you’re looking for a great app that will help you keep up with the daily news, NetNewsWire is probably one of the best software that does just that…

NetNewsWire ($9.99) [iTunes link]
