Following up on their previous green efforts, Sprint today announced the Samsung Restore, an eco-friendly phone that will be going for $49.99 on contract after rebates and will be available this summer in “midnight” and “limeade” colours. As you can see, it has a slide-out landscape QWERTY keyboard, and preloads for Facebook, Twitter, and Yahoo!. Specs-wise, you’re looking at a 2 megapixel camera and a microSD memory card slot, but on the green front, the outer casing is made of 27% recycled plastic, and 84% of the device is recyclable. Sprint’s eco-criteria also dictate that it has Energy Star certification, uses sustainable packaging, includes eco-friendly applications, and keeps materials like PVC and BFRs to a minimum.
