Vodafone logo signs on with WiMAX ForumWith WiMAX poised to usher in the 4G era of high-speed wireless broadband, the list of members in the WiMAX Forum is always growing. The newest principal member is Vodafone! As the largest wireless carrier on the globe, Vodafone’s membership give the WiMAX Forum some serious credibility.

Says Vodafone’s Global CTO, Steve Pusey, “Our membership of the WiMAX Forum will complement our existing memberships of other key industry bodies such as the GSMA, 3GPP and the Next Generation Mobile Network initiative. Vodafone remains technology neutral as far as our future network options are concerned, and joining the WiMAX Forum is a logical step as we seek to evaluate the full capabilities and potential of this technology.”

While Vodafone isn’t committing to the 4G tech, their membership bodes well for WiMAX’s global adoption.
