Google Place Pages Go Mobile for Android and iPhone

In the fall, Google released something called Place Pages, which mashed-up all sorts of data for business listings, including geotagged pictures, reviews from multiple networks, hours, maps (complete with Street View and directions), and all of the standard contact information. Now, all of that data is mobile-friendly – just hit up Google.com on your phone’s browser, do a search for a business you know, and open up the local listing.

Now, as soon as Google Buzz plugs into all of this data, then you’ll have yourself a stew goin’. Buzz on Android already allows you to pick the business you’re updating your status from, if it can figure out your GPS location, so it might as well be popped into the appropriate Place Page. Likewise, Place Page information should be easily accessible to Buzz users, so they can check reviews as they’re commenting. Besides that, as nice as the mobile site is, it would be good to see the experience optimized in dedicated search apps, like the one for BlackBerry.

Currently, Android and iPhone are supported, but I managed to pull up Place Pages fine on my BlackBerry, though the map isn’t quite as snazzy as in that video.
