BlackBerry 9100 and 9105 Pass FCC With AWS Bands

The new BlackBerry Pearl 3G made it through the FCC a few weeks ago, seemingly on the way to AT&T, and now the FCC has approved versions of both the 9100 and its numeric keypad little brother, the 9105, with AWS bands. That means carriers like T-Mobile, Wind and Mobilicity could offer the BlackBerry Pearl 3G sometime in the near future.

Right now, the only carrier really forthcoming about a launch is Rogers, whose handset we’ll be reviewing later today. Despite the AWS certification, there were some far-fetched rumours that T-Mobile might not even pick up the Pearl 3G. North of the border, I would be surprised to see Wind or Mobilicity offering another BlackBerry since they both already have the Bold 9700 and neither have an Android device. I’m still pretty sure we won’t see the 9105 (on the right) anywhere but Europe, but the option over here would be a pleasant surprise. If we hear anything from T-Mobile, we’ll be sure to let y’all know.
