BlackBerry Curve 9330 Confirmed for Sprint in Knowledgebase Article

Now that a bunch of GSM carriers have squeezed out the BlackBerry Curve 3G, it’s time we start seeing it on CDMA carriers. A RIM knowledgebase article (which has been pulled since being published) described a problem with the unannounced BlackBerry Curve 9330, particularly for Sprint. It’s worth noting that “3G” is left out of the name because, y’know, the 8530 successor was already all 3G’d up, leaving OS 6 as the sole reason one would want a 9330 instead.

We expect the 9330 to look like the 9300, aside from being for CDMA carriers: QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera with no flash or autofocus, 256 MB of RAM, and a 624 MHz processor. One would hope that maybe the CDMA version could at least ship with OS 6 unl ke its GSM brother, but that all depends on the timeline for a launch. Typically CDMA BlackBerrys don’t land until 6 months to a year after their GSM counterparts are launched. Luckily, a Verizon roadmap has hinted that the 9330 is arriving in October, likely around the same time it’s coming to Sprint.
