Hear this – LG Chocolate phones are selling like crazy in Japan. Yeah, it’s hard to believe that a device with such a “feature set” — although to be fair the Japanese Chocolate is a 3G/HSDPA enabled phone — as the Chocolate could do so well in such a developed mobile phone market as Japan where even such companies like Nokia are having a hard time, but apparently consumers in the Land of the rising Sun like it. We know LG designed the Chocolate as global phone and that so far they’ve sold more than 14 million units around the world, but we thought it will never stick in Japan. We were sooo wrong, as on the launch day, LG managed to sell 5,000 Chocolates, and has since seen daily sales average 2,000 units. This made LG to forecast 200,000 Chocolates sold by the end of this year! Wow!

- It’s also ranked second in a popularity poll by price comparison website Kakaku.com.
So what’s the reason of LG’s success in Japan. Apparently it’s the Chocolate’s design consumers like. In addition, let’s not forget the marketing – LG is working alongside DoCoMo to market the phone and its representatives have visited firsthand mobile phone retailers across Japan to promote it.
