Way to go, Verizon! We love the way you add handsets to your lineup months (more than we can count with the fingers on one hand) after they’ve hit the market in GSM-guise. Just how are you the No. 2 carrier in the US? Oh yea, because the other alternative is the other CDMA carrier, Sprint.
Enough Verizon-hating, if people want to stay with the “beta-max” of a network that Verizon calls CDMA, we’ll let it be.
It looks like Verizon Wireless will be picking up the incredibly successful HTC Touch in CDMA form. No, it hasn’t been announced yet, but then again, that’s why you love us, right? This one’s a lock for release, it’s just a matter of time.
What you see above is an HTC Touch clad in White, complete with Verizon branding. We’re expecting Verizon to brand the HTC Touch as the Verizon XV6900, and it should be rocking the same 2 megapixel camera, EVDO, and GPS internals as its CDMA-siblings already on Sprint and Alltel. Of course, Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional will be running the show with a Verizon-branded version of TouchFLO giving it a good dose of “pretty.”
Hey, Verizon customers, just don’t go renewing your contract for the sake of a pretty, new HTC Touch. Wait a bit and come over to the GSM side of things – life’s just soo much better over here.
