Verizon VX9100 gets real – LG enV2 on the horizon

Verizon shows off LG VX9100 enV2If the LG Voyager’s huge external touchscreen isn’t your cup of tea, Verizon’s got your back with the LG VX9100. With a smaller external display and dedicated external keypad that flips open to reveal a full-QWERTY keyboard and stereo speakers, the LG VX9100 is a smaller, slimmer offering for text-messaging aficionados. Now, you might have thought that the LG VX10000 Voyager was thought to be Verizon’s successor to the original LG VX9900 enV, but then you’d be wrong. Verizon is apparently looking to bring in the LG VX9100 as the LG “enV2” – a true-blue successor in both name and form.

We’re hearing that Black and Maroon are first up on the LG enV2’s color palette, which should offer a bit more appeal than the original LG VX9900 enV’s launch in Black.

From the photos it’s clear that miniUSB or microUSB are in the cards for the LG enV2, as is a microSD card slot. And, word has it that there’s a 2 megapixel shooter in there.

Hopefully, we’ll see Verizon launch this handset soon. Pricing is not yet known, but it’s safe to say that it’s going to be a bit more affordable than the LG Voyager VX10000.
