Remember Fotopedia Heritage, the iPhone and iPad application we recommended downloading (it’s free)? Well, the same company that brought us that gem (Fotonauts), launched its first PRO (as in “not free”) application in the AppStore – Fotopedia National Parks.

As you can imagine, the focus here is on national parks of the U.S. Renowned photographer Quang-Tuan Luong created 3,000 images strong collection which is now (literally) available at your fingertips. The collection is the result of a 10-year project by Mr. Luong, who traveled over 100,000 miles, by car, aircraft of all sizes, ferry, motor boat, kayak, even venturing underwater, and climbing to the summit of Mount McKinley to take some of the photos.

The great thing is that he relied on a large format camera (5×7 inches) which uses film with a surface area 25 times larger than regular 24×36 mm film and produces extremely detailed photos, as you will definitely notice if you hit the link below.

In total, you’ll be able to access images from 58 US National Parks, including Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon and Glacier National Park. You can search through photos, browse them, get POI descriptions, plan travels, use images as wallpapers and share them with friends…
