People in Norway buy the most expensive and advanced mobile phones

SynovateSynovate has conducted a study on behalf of Telenor to show which nation among the three surveyed — Norway, Sweden and Denmark — buys the most expensive and advanced mobile phones. And the winner is… Norway, where people spend an average of NOK 1868; Swede spends an equivalent of NOK 1762 and a Dane NOK 1247 when purchasing a new mobile phone.

The study also showed that Norwegians buy more advanced mobile phones. As many as 53% of Norwegian people’s mobile phones were classified as high-end, compared to a mere 11 and 34 percent in Sweden and Denmark, respectively.

Other findings:

  • Mobile phone users in all three countries said it is important that the phones have cameras. People in Norway find this particularly important, while in Denmark they prefer easy to use (simple) phones. Finally, Swedes are especially concerned with the music-listening functions.
  • On average Norwegians and Danes replace their phones on every 22 months, while the Swedes keep theirs for an average of 31 months. However, the main reasons that Scandinavians get new phones are that their old phones are either destroyed or lost.

The bad thing about the survey is that it doesn’t include Finland. We know which brand they prefer, but what about their mobile phone buying/using habits?
