An event calendar for the Moscone Convention Center suggests Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer’s conference will be held in early June. The calendar has a reservation for an unnamed meeting in Moscone West that is listed as a convention/tradeshow. Apple has held WWDC in Moscone West in the past. The calendar listing is a five day event that starts on June 5th and extends until June 9th. While this listing does not mention Apple, the rest of the early summer month is already booked with five other events, leading everyone to believe the Cupertino company will hold WWDC at this earlier date.

While WWDC is a developer-centric conference similar to Google I/O, Apple has traditionally used the event to announce new versions of the iPhone and its mobile operating system iOS. This year the Cupertino company is expected to unveil the iPhone 5, the next generation iPhone that may include an improved processor, dual-band CDMA/GSM radio, and NFC technology. In January, Steve Jobs announced that he is taking a leave of absence, a development that may prevent him from hosting this event. If this rumor pans out, we can expect Phil Schiller  to introduce the next generation iPhone. Schiller stood in for Jobs for the 2009 iPhone 3GS announcement when the Apple head was on another medical leave of absence.
